Tranquilizing an animal is a humane way of controlling a beast that has turned dangerous for humans. It is is a precise skill that requires extensive traning and expertise. However, tranquilization practices are skill in there nascent stage in India at the moment, and there is a severe need to train our forest personnel in its correct procedured, as there have been nemorous tranquilizing operations that have sadly eneded with the death of animal, sometime due to an overdose of the drug or improper handling of the situation. Emphasizing the safety parameters of recue operations, i have conducted extensive workshops across the country training weterinarians and field staff on the use of dart guns, which are techncally known as syringe projectors, and the techniues of handling a dengerous beast.
